휴스턴 도심 속 폭포, 제럴드 하인스 폭포 공원 (Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park)

휴스턴 업타운에 위치한 제랄드 하인즈 폭포 공원(Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park)은 1980년대에 조성된 인공 폭포에요. 약 3 에이커 (acres)의 공원에 조성된 인공 폭포의 높이는 약 20미터 정도 되고,  분당 약 11,000 갤런의 물을 쏟아낸다고 하네요.  휴스턴 업타운이 궁금하시면 제 글 휴스턴 업타운을 클릭해 보세요.

폭포 공원 맞은편에 위치한 윌리엄스 타워(Willams Tower)는 64층짜리 오피스 빌딩으로, 1980년대 초반에 완공되었어요. 윌리엄스 타워는 텍사스에서 4번째로 높은 빌딩이에요. 참고로 텍사스에서 제일 높은 빌딩은 휴스턴 다운타운에 위치한 제이피모건 체이스 타워(JPMorgan Chase Tower, 75층 빌딩, 305 미터)에요. 한국에서 3번째로 높은 해운대 두산 위브 더 제니스(주거용 아파트/빌딩)가 80층에 301미터 정도  되니까(한국 위키피디아 참고) 옆에 세워 놓으면 비슷한 높이겠네요. 제이피모건 체이스 타워와 휴스턴 다운타운이 궁금하시면 제 글  휴스턴 다운타운을 클릭해 보세요^^.

Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park, located in uptown Houston, is an artificial waterfall built in the 1980s. The artificial waterfall, built in a park of about 3 acres, is about 20 meters high and spills about 11,000 gallons of water a minute. Located on the opposite side of Waterfall Park, the Willams Tower is a 64-storey office building, completed in the early 1980s. The Williams Tower is the fourth tallest building in Texas. For your information, the tallest building in Texas is the JPMorgan Chase Tower, a 75-story building at 305 meters in downtown Houston. Haeundae Doosan We've the Zenith (residential apartment / building), which is the third highest in Korea, is about 301 meters on the 80th floor (see Korean Wikipedia).
