바이유 밴드 정원 (Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens)

휴스턴에서 제일 먼저 봄꽃들을 구경할 수 있는 곳이 바로 바이유 밴드 정원(Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens)인데요, 제 생각으로는 휴스턴 도심에서 봄을 만끽할 수 있는 최고의 장소 중의 하나예요.. 바이유 밴드 정원은 전미에서 10번째로 부유한 동네 리버 옥스 (River Oaks)에 위치한 관광지로, 본래는 호그 (Hogg) 가문의 저택이었다고 하네요. 1928년에 완공된 건물로, 현재는 휴스턴 미술관 (Museum of Fine Arts) 소속의 관광지가 되었어요.  아래 사진은 저택 앞에 있는 정원이에요.

처음 방문했을 때는 이 장소가 개인의 집이었다는 사실이 믿기지 않을 정도로 넓어서 감탄을 금치 못 했던 기억이 나네요. 저택의 내부에는 28개의 방이 있다고 하네요. 

 

저택 앞에는 멋진 분수도 있어요. 

정원에는 여러 종류의 진달래가 피어 있어요.

One of the first places in Houston to see spring flowers is the Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, which I think is one of the best places to enjoy spring in downtown Houston. The Bayou Band Garden is a tourist destination located in River Oaks, the 10th richest town in the United States, and was originally the home of Hogg's family. This building, completed in 1928, is now a tourist attraction belonging to the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. When I first visited, I was so surprised by the fact that this place was a private house. There are 28 rooms in the mansion. There is a nice fountain in front of the mansion and also are many kinds of azaleas in the garden.
