휴스턴 쇼핑의 중심 더 갤러리아 (The Galleria)

휴스턴 업타운에 위치한 갤러리아 (The Galleria)는 휴스턴 쇼핑과 관광의 중심지예요.. 갤러리아는 텍사스에서 제일 크고, 전미에서 7번째로 큰 쇼핑센터로, 총 400개 이상의 상점이 쇼핑센터 안에 입점해 있어요. 미국의 대표적 백화점인 메이시스(Macy's), 삭스 피프스 애비뉴(Saks Fifth Avenue)를 비롯하여 루이 뷔통 (LOUIS VUITTON), 샤넬 (CHANEL) 등 우리에게 친숙한 명품 브랜드도 입점해 있고요.

갤러리아는 지하 1층과 지상 3층으로 되어 있어요.

푸드코트 (Food Court)는 지하 1층에 있는데 칠리스 (Chili's), 칙필라 (Chick-Fil-A), 맥도널드 (McDonald's), 펏밸리 (Potbelly), 스바로 (Sbarro) 피자와 같은 프랜차이즈 레스토랑을 비롯하여 중식, 일식, 이탈리안, 멕시칸 등 다양한 음식을 먹을 수 있어요. 

루이 뷔통, 샤넬 매장을 비롯한 명품 매장은 1층에 있어요. 

의류 쇼핑보다는 자동차나 핸드폰에 관심이 있으시다면, 테슬라 (TESLA)나 애플(APPLE) 매장도 방문해 보세요.  두 매장 모두 갤러리아 방문객들한테 인기가 많아요. 

한국에 입점해 선풍적인 인기를 끌고 있는 햄버거 전문점 쉐이크 쉑 (SHAKE SHACK)도 갤러리아에 입점해 있어요.1층 명품 매장 코너에 있는데 살바토레 페라가모 (Salvatore Ferragamo) 매장 옆 골목으로 쭉~ 들어가시면 돼요. 

만약 구매하신 물건을 한국으로 가지고 가신다면,  3층에 있는 텍사스 텍스 백 (Texas Tax Back) 사무실에서 지불하신 판매세 (sales tax, 휴스턴 판매세 비율 8.25%)를 환불받으실 수 있어요. 판매세 환불 신청 시 필요한 여권과 귀국 비행기 표는 꼭 지참하세요.

The Galleria has one basement floor and three floors above ground. Food Court is located on the basement, and there are various kinds of food such as Potbelly, Chili's, Chick-Fil-A, Sbarro, McDonald's. You can also enjoy Japanese, Chinese, and Mexican foods. Luxury stores including Louis Vuitton and Chanel are located on the first floor. If you are interested in cars or cell phones rather than apparel shopping, try visiting Tesla or Apple stores. Both stores are popular with galleria visitors. SHAKE SHACK, a hamburger restaurant that is gaining huge popularity in Asia, is also located in Galleria. It is located in the corner of Luxury Stores on the first floor. Go straight to the alley next to Salvatore Ferragamo.

 

If you bring your purchases back to your home country, you will receive a refund of sales tax (Houston sales tax rate of 8.25%) paid at Texas Tax Back office on the third floor. Please bring your passport and your return ticket for the sales tax refund application.
